The fire overpowered the well known hotel city of Lahaina on Maui, transforming the natural heaven into an apocalyptical bad dream of consuming homes, skeletal trees and demise.

"We've actually got dead bodies drifting on the seawall," one Lahaina inhabitant told Hawaii News Now, per the New York Post.

"They've been staying there since the previous evening."

One Lahaina occupant, distinguished exclusively as Luke, told  "the entire town was annihilated" and that it was "going to require years" for the island to recuperate from the harm.

Aeronautical video showed segments of smoke ascending from many blocks of Lahaina - the biggest vacationer location on Maui.

"It resembles a region was besieged. It resembles a disaster area," said helicopter pilot Richard Olsten, as per Hawaii News Now.

Olsten referred to the circumstance on the ground as "frightening," saying that he has seen nothing like this in his 52 years flying for a visit organization.

"We had tears in our eyes," he added.
